Sylvia Young Theatre School

Holiday Courses

Welcome

Our Holiday Courses are taught by a dedicated team of full-time school teachers and experienced professionals from the theatre industry.

Our courses focus on strong vocational training designed to build confidence, improve communication skills, and nurture individual talent. No audition is required, making the courses accessible to both complete beginners and those with previous theatre experience. All students are welcomed into a fun, friendly, and supportive environment—an ideal place to learn new skills and make new friends.

We offer a variety of exciting sessions across our popular holiday programmes:

Theatre Classes Course (ages 7–18)
Musical Theatre Course (ages 10–18)

All sessions take place at our school premises in Nutford Place, London W1.
You can book directly via our [Online Booking Page]. Our system will notify you immediately if a course is fully booked. All communication during the booking process—including confirmations and updates—will be sent via email. Be sure to check your inbox settings, including spam and junk folders, to avoid missing important information.

Our cafeteria is run independently'. Students can purchase a weekly lunch voucher during online registration or students may bring packed lunches. During morning and afternoon breaks, all students can purchase snacks and drinks. Please note: due to certain students suffering from nut allergies, we ask all visitors not to bring nuts or nut products into the school. Only students who are aged 16 and over with a permission note from parents / guardian may leave the building at lunchtime. Permission notes are given to the reception during registration.

Our school first-aider is on duty at all times. Please ensure that she is aware of any problem or medication that your child may need.

Viewing day is usually the last day of the course where parents/carers can visit classes and watch their child. You can visit for the whole day or part day. Just sign in at reception and collect a programme.

Our staff do their very best to accommodate every child.  It is helpful for staff to be aware if a student is dyslexic, for example, so that support can be available in a drama or singing class to read scripts or lyrics.  Support would take the form of teacher awareness only.  We would not be able to provide an additional member of staff.
Equally, it may be helpful for dance teachers to be aware if a student is dyspraxic as the student may need more time to pick up routines.
The student would need to be able to benefit from the teaching available in the class at the same time as not impeding the learning of other students.
Should you wish to discuss any of these points with us to confirm whether the classes would be suitable for your child, please feel free to contact us.
